      Ophelia Wilkins, Rose Fellow with Regional Housing Alliance, received a Green Communities Charrette Grant for the design of a net-zero energy affordable housing pilot project to be built by Colorado Housing, Inc, scheduled to break ground in Fall 2009. Since she received the grant on July 7, she has hosted a Green Communities Charrette, she has been interviewed for articles in the Durango Herald and the Durango Telegraph, and she will be speaking about integrating design into the development process at the Colorado Housing Now Conference on October 15, 2009.

      The local chapter of Habitat for Humanity receives a Green Communities grant for the construction of eight duplexes designed by Ophelia Wilkins. These homes will be the first affordable housing development in La Plata County to be built green.
